As a young Nigerian artist, many of my works are born from a quiet observation of the world around me. Silence Headlines is one of those pieces.

The inspiration came from the idea that sometimes the loudest truths are hidden in silence — the stories that never make it to the newspapers, the emotions that never get spoken, and the strength we find in stillness.

Through charcoal and acrylic textures, I created a portrait that reflects this paradox: the stillness of silence, yet the weight of stories behind it. For me, it was a reminder that even when words fail, art has the power to speak.

Now, I’m making this work available as a limited edition print on Saatchi Art. This is an opportunity to own a piece of my journey, whether you’re collecting for meaning, for beauty, or as part of your art investment.

Thank you for supporting my journey. Every piece collected is not just art on a wall, but a part of a larger story — mine and yours together.

Warmly,

Ayodele Odetola
